Active Directory Engineering Team Lead Description

Position Description: 

The Active Directory Engineering Team Lead provides leadership of a team of engineers that supports design, implementation, and ongoing support services for Microsoft’s on-premises and cloud identity platforms including Active Directory and Entra. This role requires prior experience in managing large enterprise environments.

The successful candidate will be flexible in a fast-paced environment, able to organize and prioritize multiple initiatives, and demonstrate leadership to other highly skilled team members.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Provide technical leadership of Microsoft identity and      infrastructure engineers in a very large enterprise environment and exert      influence outside of the immediate team.
  • Mentor and consult with team members and other organizations,      customers, and vendors on complex issues.
  • Manage high volume of tasks and priorities at the direction of government      leadership.
  • Contribute to strategic direction for teams through development      of standards, target states, roadmaps
  • Develop comprehensive and accurate reports and presentations for      both technical and executive audiences. 
  • Lead Tier 3 level troubleshooting including diagnosing complex      replication and multi domain issues.

     

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of recent system engineering or      leadership experience. Additional training and experience may be      substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience as a subject matter expert (SME) Senior Active      Directory System Engineer or Architect in a large AD environment with the      proven ability to coordinate technical efforts and resolve issues across      multiple teams.
  • Knowledge of third-party AD support services such as Quest Active      Roles, Quest Change Auditor, Quest Recovery Manager
  • Experience translating technical issues into understandable      business language for end-users

Required Clearance

  • Must have an Interim Secret Clearance to start work with the      ability to obtain Top Secret
